YouTube

Not that you've missed it
Continuing in the trend of obvious stuff , today we'll be taking a look at the official Youtube app for Android. As long as you're a regular Android user this might be pointless, but in case you are thinking of acquiring a mobile device and also happen to watch Youtube from time to time, then it's only fair to know what is to be expected.
The Youtube mobile app comes installed with every Android device lately. As opposed to using a browser to access it, the app is much more accessible and faster. The app is configured solely as a viewer. You cannot upload videos but can view them, type in comments (where allowed) and issue likes or dislikes (if that even matters anyway).
The three main sections of Home, Subscriptions and Account can be accessed from the top of the screen and you can easily switch between them.
Watching a video will also show suggested videos and comment row under it. Switching to a full screen view is done with a button, but swiping down will reduce the video to a corner. A reduced video will still play, but will also allow you to navigate to other sections of Youtube without pausing it. You can only have one video in this mode though.
You should know that you are not limited to the device screen. Youtube can pair with smart TV's and stream videos directly to the set so that the shadow people can also see you while you watch your favorite music videos. :D
The Youtube app is fine and dandy until you realize that it is not a music player. Minimizing it will stop whatever is playing. This is a gripe that I and most other users have with it, but seeing that there's no alternative, we must wait on the developers.
Features
- Connects to your Youtube account and can access all of Youtube videos (not all since Youtube Red is now active)
- Navigation while playing
- Video commenting
- TV Pairing
Pros
- It works fast
- Good interface
Cons
- Minimization kills the video
Conclusion
The Youtube app is very well put together, aside the fact that it stops videos when minimized (which is probably some sort of limitation that needs to be overcome) watching videos is a delight.
